YOGA WITH TIANACAT

A LOVE STORY

After seeing no improvement from physical therapy healing from my knee injury, I turned to yoga in 2015 to take my healing into my own hands. I discovered power yoga, a more active form of yoga that changed my mind about the “boring” passive yoga that I had experienced before. Through power yoga, I was able to experience a full body workout that left me feeling both zen and energized. I had soon learned that the BREATH was the spark to make yoga the first workout to ever make sense in my body. With yoga, through my breath, I was finally able to quiet my mind and connect with my body and spirit and fine tune my highly sensitive (HSP) intuitive abilities.

Though I was deeply interested in yoga, I was not really interested in teaching. To deepen my knowledge I took my first 200 hr teacher training program in 2017, I learned about the system of yoga and it’s lineage. It wasn’t until 2021, after having my first child, that I one day decided to commit yoga and it’s impact on my life, and decided to go all in. In 2022, I completed my second 200 hour teacher training, and became a certified yoga instructor.

yoga as a spiritual practice

When I completed Pre-Natal teacher training in February 2023 2 years after becoming a mom, I learned the importance of sadhana in your yoga practice. During my training, yoga asana as a spiritual practice became the primary foundation for a daily sadhana. From then, I began to deepen with yoga as a spiritual practice. My movement became my prayer and devotion to the Divine.

SMAI TAWI & KEMETIC YOGA

In 2022, during my studies of yoga and it’s origins, I discovered the roots of yoga traced back to Egypt. I began learning Kemetic knowledge at the top of the year in 2024. You can read more about my journey here.
